Practice Facilities

Northern Dunes wants you to be ready for a great day! With a large short game facility located just out front the clubhouse, golfers will be able to putt, pitch and chip as well as hit some bunker shots.

An exciting addition for the 2011 season Northern Dunes is constructing 2 meshed hitting stalls. In the past there hasn't really been a full swing warm up area for golfers, so instead of having a 1st tee mulligan rule, players can take advantage of the hitting stalls before they tee it up.

GREENS SPEED & CONTROL
Be sure to take advantage of the practice green to get a feel for the speed of the greens as weather can dictate the performance on the greens (wet = slow, dry = fast). One thing we take pride in here at Northern Dunes is that our greens all run relatively consistent, so once you have mastered the speed on one of the greens, you will have a great feel for all of them giving you a definite advantage over your playing partners.

BUNKER SHOTS
You can also practice some bunker shots from two of our groomed bunkers located at the practice green. Much like the greens, our bunkers are all relatively consistent with the beautiful natural sand of our area and playing from them seems to be more fun and entertaining than troublesome! (Ok, maybe not so fun and entertaining)

CHIPPING
A wide area around the practice green is available to practice those pesky little chip shots that seem to make and break a lot of games. Chipping is more accuracy than distance & positioning your ball in the right location will allow you to finish up with a small putt, a long miserable putt, or if you're lucky, no putt at all!

STRETCHING
You will find that you will enjoy the game more when you take a few minutes before your game to warm up. Stretching is also a very good exercise to perform before starting your round to not only avoid injury but also to relieve some stress before your round.

So remember, Stretch, get a feel for the speed of the greens, master the art of 'blasting' out of the sand, develop your accuracy on your chip shots and on your drives! I ensure you that in doing so you will be off to a great game!
